5G is of the upmost importance to o2, industries and consumers will rely on the 5G network to power devices and transmit the data that drive their daily activities. As consumers we will need networks that can provide constant connections, minimal lag times, increased bandwidth to access and share data and the ability to quickly compile and compute data.

S+H have been embedded in o2 to help them produce content around the network and its challenges and possibilities, as part of this 5G project we were asked to create a 90 second ‘hero’ video to be shown externally and internally to showcase their 5G progression, including technical trials with key industries within the UK. These included showcasing how Emergency Services would benefit form a 5G network around the track at Millbrook, remote specialist engineering advice allowing real-time collaboration, a virtual presence application of 5G and a 5G enabled robotic arm.

“4G is very different to 5G. We are learning through technical innovation and exploration. This isn’t simply about going faster. This is pushing the boundaries of the new technology; for it to be an enabler for businesses and consumers alike; in ways they can already visualise but in many ways they haven’t even thought of yet”

Derek McManus, Chief Operating Officer O2
