Strength + Honour have worked with ADRA across a number of annual fundraising initiatives, and across their entire brand positioning as a relief and development organisation. Historically, ADRA had co-ordinated a shoebox appeal with school children.

However, sending pre-packed shoe boxes was becoming difficult – items were getting damaged, spoiling, or weren’t the items needed urgently in a region. Shipping and distribution costs were also becoming prohibitive. However, the shoe box appeal had real engagement, so we needed to develop an alternative, without losing the magic essence of selecting and giving a gift.

With a tight budget and tight deadline our team went over and above to create a truly unique interactive experience for Adra UK, allowing children and their parents to select from a range of much-needed items to place within their gift box, whilst education them on why those items are needed in a particular region. Items are then purchased locally, boosting the local economy and removing the majority of distribution costs. The interactive website has been a huge success, with increased purchase, increased value and increased engagement.
